Even if there did exist some great man or woman somewhere, they would still be nothing in comparison to Jesus Christ.

…..

When good people are hated it’s another sign that the devil exists.

Do you believe the concept of “evil” is a real concept?

If so, you might be one step closer to believing the Bible is the word of God.

…..

Paul was the greatest “theologian” in history, and he also healed the sick, cast out demons and prayed in tongues more than anyone else.

There was complete harmony between the truth and the gifts.

Today, where would you find a theologian who prays for the sick, prays in tongues and casts out demons?

Or, where would you find a popular preacher who emphasizes the gifts of the Spirit and yet who is absolutely committed to rightly dividing the truth of God’s word, and exposing all false teaching?

It’s extremely rare.

…..

In Christendom, a sin becomes approved when most people approve of it, because, how can so many people, and especially the leaders, be wrong? If everyone’s doing it, how can it be wrong?

……

An inclusive world which excludes people who believe what Jesus said.

……

Quote

“We are always only three meals away from anarchy”.

Abortion is perhaps the biggest issue facing Americans right now.

And abortion is primarily a moral issue before it is a political one.

So, you can’t separate politics from morality.

Abortion has put a spotlight on a great moral divide in society, between those who believe it is murder, and those who don’t. This is a great moral chasm, a great divide.

Because murder is the worst crime.

So, if politics and morality can’t be separated, can you separate morality from belief in God?

Is there any fixed morality if God doesn’t exist?

So, every issue of man comes back to him having an issue with His Creator.

……

Abortion’s legality could easily be settled democratically by taking this poll: “Are you thankful you were not aborted?” Yes or No.

…..

Those people who survived an abortion could press for attempted murder charges, right?

…..

In the devil’s very first encounter with men and women he posed as a theological expert:

“Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Gen. 3:4-5)

……

As marriage is a holy covenant with God, then, holiness underpins this covenant. Holiness is the supreme attribute which sustains a marriage, though when we’re young we might not appreciate this. But as we age together with our spouse, holiness is the one attribute we appreciate in them above all other attributes.

……

Why wouldn’t you want to be strong in faith?

……

If we tell the world that God loves them and wants them to go to Heaven, and gave His Son to die to make that possible, why don’t we see millions gladly accepting His offer? Why don’t multitudes jump at this fantastic offer?

Do you know why they don’t?

The answer is in the human heart corrupted by sin.

“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:19)

……

If you have a pressing need, why wouldn’t you ask the Father for it? Maybe you didn’t want to bother Him? You thought He was busy with more important stuff?

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:23-24)

…..

Before our eyes evolved we used to bump into things a lot.

I guess it was also pretty tough going before we evolved reproductive organs.

And it took millions of years for each of those reproductive organs and systems to mutate themselves and evolve to a point where they actually worked.

……

Fellowship with God should be the main part of our life, and then He will remind us not to forget to also have fellowship with His people.

……

Take the truth away and what have you got?

What kind of life you would have?

What kind of church would you have?

……

‘Well, why doesn’t God just show up and show himself to everyone?!’

He did, and they crucified Him.

There’s always more than enough grace supplied to do the Lord’s will.

…..

Everything is by His grace, and there never is a valid excuse for disobedience.

Keep these two truths in mind and you’re safe.

That is, grace cannot be put forward as an excuse for disobedience. The disobedient can’t find comfort in grace.

Babylon can’t be the world system because it’s the world which turns against it and destroys it.

(See Rev. 17:16-18)

And, by a process of elimination we can get an idea of what Babylon is, as its judgment is still pending.

So, which is the most powerful nation on earth which also claims to be Christian?

Eliminate the nations which don’t fit the bill and what are you left with?

…..

Someone was sharing how they visited a third world nation and the church congregations were not able to understand any teaching from scripture, but they loved to dance.

Compare with the churches in the first century, when they got letters sent to them from the Apostles (the NT epistles) and were expected to understand what was written and put those truths into practice?

……

If something in Christianity contradicts the truth of scripture, then that thing will depend on ignorance of scripture to be sustained. There will need to be enough ignorant people to keep it going.

And, by its nature, any such thing propagates ignorance, and is in turn sustained by ignorance – and thus is a vicious circle.

……

Humans spend their short lives searching for happiness, and, even if they do find it, it’s only momentary.

…..

If doing yoga or meditating could give you peace then so could drugs or alcohol, if you define “peace” as a feeling.

The Bible defines peace differently, as the state of a relationship between two persons. These persons are either at peace with one another, or at enmity.

Jesus made peace between God and men by paying the price for all sin when He died, removing the enmity between God and man.

So, true peace is when God is at peace with you, and you accept and believe this fact.

He is our peace.

The worst state a person can be in is when demons give them a false peace and they think it is God.

The devil always tries to impersonate God or take His place.

That’s the deepest delusion, when a person serves demons but thinks they are serving God.

And demons can give people ecstatic trances and feelings of peace and love.

…..

Even if you can’t find fellowship you can fellowship with God right now.

If the UN declared today as “Stand On Your Head Day” you’d probably see people trying to stand on their heads, or at least wishing everyone a happy Stand On Your Head Day.

Generally, people seem okay with the concept that some fellow somewhere decides for them what they should celebrate and on what day they should celebrate it.

Dumbing down of society?

……

With any Christian doctrine, if you have to ignore or even cancel out a bunch of scriptures to make the doctrine “work” then it’s a false doctrine.

…..

With natural remedies you’re not taking away your faith from God and putting it on the remedy if you’re simply acknowledging that God provided the remedy, and then gave you the wisdom to use it.

Everything bears fruit after it’s own kind.

For example, we can know whether we are using our time wisely by the fruit which is borne from how we are using our time.

……

Christians don’t tolerate the blaspheming of Jesus name, but they forgive and pray for the blasphemer. Just because we don’t hate people for doing it doesn’t mean we tolerate it.

……

God gave His Son.

The Son gave His life.

The disciples gave their life for the Son.

This is about giving.

Giving is an incredible phenomenon.

In giving our time, our consideration, our possessions, our love, for another, we are giving something of ourself – we are giving a portion of our life to them.

And such are giving a portion of their life to us.

“Love does not seek it’s own.” (1 Cor. 13:5)

……

One man reads a portion of scripture and he’s bored.

Another man reads that same portion and he’s filled with wonder.

From last Sunday:

May everyone have a blessed time of fellowship today as brothers and sisters in Christ.

“Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.” (1 Cor. 14:12)

Spiritual gifts were used during the church meeting.

It presumes everyone was free to use their gift.

It totally rules out a traditional church service.

If a word which a brother or sister shares (being scripture truth) builds up your faith, reveals Jesus, encourages you, disciplines you, brings the fear of God, brings light or clarity etc. THEN THAT IS A SPIRITUAL GIFT which is operating.

At any given point of time a large portion of the human race is witnessing either sunrise or sunset. Right now, for instance, the sun is rising upon billions of people.

How many acknowledge Him?

Would we be wrong in assuming the majority try to shut Him out of their minds completely?

“Church”, which is a gathering of people, not a building or organization, only goes as deep as the genuine friendships between the bros and sisters.

First, it is friendship with God, then with each other. We become a friend of God, and He helps us to have deep and lasting and blessed friendships with His people.

Without that real friendship, without genuine real life relationship, it’s not a church, it’s only a shell.

…..

Bottomline acid test for “having church”:

Is the way we “do church” conducive to becoming more conformed to Christ, and ever increasing in faith, and knowing Him more and more, and beconing increasingly fruitful in His Kingdom?

“…we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.” (2 Cor. 5:16)

This means that Jesus Christ cannot be known through the physical senses.

God, obviously, can reveal Himself to the physical senses, but He chooses not to.

If Jesus spoke to you by an audible voice, then how would you learn to hear the voice of the Spirit in your inner man?

Your ears would always be listening out, but would your heart be listening moment by moment?

God communicates by His Spirit to our spirit: Spirit to spirit.

Understanding the word of God is purely by His Spirit.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Cor. 2:12-16)

In my first few years as a Christian I used to read the Bible and was blessed with a faith to believe every word, but I still had a weakness that, somehow, truth seemed to carry more authority if it came from the lips of a famous person. If a famous preacher said it, it seemed to carry more weight than reading the same thing in the Bible. I guess it’s human frailty. Now I only care for what is written in scripture. As long as people teach what is written in scripture I’m happy, but a truth doesn’t carry more weight just because someone famous teaches it, and nor does it lose power if a nobody teaches it.

……

The whole point of imputed righteousness is to produce practical righteousness.

Only the man to whom God does not impute sin can be free from its power.

“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.” (Rom. 4:7-8)

When God forgives us, in Christ, He also empowers us.

What good would it be to be forgiven, but still a slave to sin, and still repeating the sins which He forgave?

…..

“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38)

So, most of the miraculous things concerned the healing of those oppressed by the devil.

We take it, then, that today there are still a lot of people oppressed by the devil, and Jesus is still able to heal them.

“Walk in the truth”.

Walk means to live.

These believers lived in the truth.

The truth was in them, so their whole life was an expression of that truth which was in them.

It’s where “theology” merges with REAL LIFE.

And, John has no greater joy than this, and he’s only a man.

The joy of these children of God is to express the reality of their Father in the way they live.

Answering an objection to speaking in tongues

June 13, 2022

Some object to speaking in tongues because they say that when the disciples spoke in tongues on the Day of Pentecost that others could understand what was said, because it was in known languages.

Yet in 1 Corinthians 14 Paul writes that when people speak in tongues no one understands it: neither the speaker or the audience, unless an interpretation is given:

“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” (Vs. 2)

Note: On the Day of Pentecost the tongues were spoken to men who could understand that language. But here in verse 2 Paul says that the speaker in tongues is speaking to God, not man.

And:

“Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.” (Vs. 13)

This means that interpretation is indeed a gift. An interpreter wouldn’t be someone present who happens to know that particular language.

Another verse which plainly explains that the gift of speaking in tongues is different to what happened at Pentecost is this:

“Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind?” (Vs.23)

At Pentecost they all spoke with tongues and many marvelled when they heard the message in their own language, but here in verse 23 Paul explains that if all spoke in tongues it would be bedlam, for no one would understand it.

Yet Paul doesn’t discourage praying in tongues privately, because he says:

“I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.” (Vs 18-19)

So, he is praying in tongues frequently, but not in the church, which means he prays in tongues in private.

This leads to answering another objection: that tongues were supposed to be a “sign gift”, which ceased once the Scriptures were complete, but as Paul was praying in tongues in private, then it was not a sign to anyone, and therefore not a “sign gift”.

So, there are some very highly respected Bible teachers who twist the Scriptures when it comes to this subject.

It’s better to meet with a few friends at home and discuss the word of God and pray than to be part of a corrupt church system.

At least you keep your conscience and your self respect.

Of course, I’m definitely NOT saying that a few friends at home is the best form of church.

I’m saying, if the only option is something corrupted, better to meet with a few friends at home.

Obviously, a body of believers such as we see in the New Testament churches, exemplified in 1 Cor. 14, as to how to assemble together, is much better than a few friends at home.

However, even if you are part of a genuine NT type church, it’s still compatible and synergistic with that to have a few friends at home between larger gatherings.

By corruption I mean anything of the flesh nature.

For example, to move ahead in the church system you need to promote yourself

But a true Christian won’t do that.

Having a system is the environment for corruption to take root and flourish.

When I project my mind forward a million years I know my life will continue on forever living in a beautiful city where the Father and the Lamb are the light of it, because I have His assurance of that.

I’ve read that the Greek word Ekklessia was originally used for the Greek political assembly, and then the Apostles used this same word for the “church”, as we most commonly know it.

The Holy Spirit inspired them to take a secular word, describing a secular assembly, to describe Gods people assembling together.

One thing this speaks of is authority.

If the Greek political Ekklessia was the earthly government, the Christian Eklessia is the heavenly government, wielding all spiritual authority in Jesus name.

  • The Holy Spirit inspired the scripture writers to use the Greek word, Ekklessia to describe the Aramaic word, Lodoth.

Because it was the Lord Jesus who gave a collective name to His people when He said, “I will build my Lodoth/ Ekklessia/Church”.

  • It goes to show that the English language was a very late comer.
  • It also is an exercise in understanding how God uses many languages but without changing the meaning. It’s only people who sometimes change the meaning.

Continued…

Sometimes Christians raise objection to the use of the word “church” as a translation of Eklessia because it originated from Kirke, which signified a building of worship.

Yet, we should take into account that Eklessia has two meanings: the body of Christ, and a local congregation.

So, when the English Bible uses “church” to describe the one, universal body of Christ, no one would for one minute think this is referring to a church building. So many references to “the church” as the body of Christ from every nation, which could never be construed to mean a building.

Therefore , in my opinion, we can keep the word “church”, but be very careful to define it when people might not understand that it means a people and not a building.

Next the subject comes up of, What is a church?

That is, What constitutes a local church in the eyes of the Head of the church, Jesus Christ?

The qualities of a true church are clearly described in the New Testament.

However, this doesn’t mean that, if you don’t have a true church, as per the NT definition, that you are prohibited from assembling with just a few people until it grows into a true church.

If you have to have a fully functioning Biblical church before you can fellowship, that’s like saying you must become a fully grown adult before you become a kid, like saying you must learn to run before you learn to crawl.

Any gathering in Jesus name should be an expression of His body.

Just a few people gathering in His name is a valid expression of the church as the body of Christ, even if it doesn’t have all the functions of a Biblically defined church.

One of the great dilemmas facing Christianity today is that many people have already made up their mind regarding the particular lifestyle they’ve chosen, and then they look in the Bible to try and find validation for it. Of course, they find what they’re looking for, because they will twist the scripture to make it appear to validate their lifestyle: they will see what they want to see in scripture, and not what it actually says.

When people twist scripture they can make it look like God approves of almost anything.

……

Justin Bullington wrote:

“The canon is closed (Rev. 22:18-19).

God’s Word is sufficient (Ps. 119).

The church is established (Eph. 2:20).

Sign gifts have ceased (1 Cor. 13:8).”

My reply:

1 Corinthians 13:8-12 refers to the bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His eternal Kingdom.

Yes, it refers to gifts ceasing one day, but that day hasn’t yet come.

So, these statements, while true, cannot be connected in such a way as to prove there are no supernatural workings of the Holy Spirit today or that the gifts of the Spirit have ceased.

After Jesus returns the gifts will no longer be needed.

It will be:

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”

This is the standard.

“But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.” (1 Cor. 8:3)

….and this is enough.

When Jesus will say to many, “I never knew you!” it doesn’t mean He doesn’t know everything about them, it means He has no friendship or fellowship with them.

To be known by God means He knows you as His son, as His friend, as His close companion.

In one sense a Christian does live “in the moment” because they are always in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, moment by moment.

……

There was a long discussion on Twitter about people raising their hands in church.

My Comment:

The general discussion on this highlights how neurotic western Christians have become. Who cares if you raise your hands? Why should you care what people think about you doing it? Why should people be bothered if others raise their hands?

What we have today is a cultural paradigm of church, barely resembling the 1st Cent. Church.

In the discussion the main objection to it was those who didn’t want to do it felt intimidated or pressured into doing it.

They have a psychological problem there. They should face it.

And if a church was coercing people into doing it then you should find a more credible church.

Just after I got saved on Jan 15, 1987, i was in a church and watching these guys raise their hands to God. I thought, Yeah! That’s great! Then i tried to do it but it was if something was holding my arms down. I thought about it and realized it was my pride preventing me from doing it, because, what is there to be afraid of in raising your hands? It could only be pride, having fear of what others think about you. So, after considering this I forced myself to do it. Something wonderful happened the moment I did it. I can’t describe it. But I felt more free.

I don’t do it in a church where no one does it as it would draw attention to myself.

During prayer I often raise my hands.

Why hasn’t he been charged with inciting sedition? Why hasn’t he been charged with something, at least, if he is partly responsible for Jan 6?

Why hasn’t he been called as a witness, seeing as though he was the main instigator?

Why can’t he be questioned under oath to give evidence of whether or not he acted under the direction of Trump?

If Trump supposedly orchestrated the incursion then there would be some kind of link between Trump (or his staff) and Epps, who was perhaps the most visible instigator.

When questioned, the FBI Director would not deny that Epps is a Fed.

If the FBI used agents to instigate the “insurrection” then whose orders were they following and why?

It would seem there actually is a Swamp, and Trump was perceived as the greatest threat to these underworld operatives.

It’s enough to make you a conspiracy theorist.

When justice becomes a joke, your civilization has become a joke.

If someone actually cares about your soul they’re probably the one who really loves you.

…..

If God helps you, then what are the possibilities?

…..

One of the great dangers in following false prophets or teachers is that you’ll become just as much a jerk as they are.

…..

Once we understand the Gospel we are faced with a simple choice every day: Do we believe what Jesus said and promised, or do we not? If we do, then we’re okay.

How do you know you’ll be okay? Because He promised.

…..

Read today:

“If it’s against God’s word, it’s against God Himself”.

…..

Christian, a million years from now the LORD will still love you.

……

When you approach God do you have any idea of whom you’re approaching?

……

What role is the Holy Spirit taking in your life today?

……

If a person loves Jesus Christ more than anything in this world it shows in their life.

……

How love can be counterfeited is shown in the fact that it’s possible to be outwardly very loving and kind, but in reality only care about yourself.

……

You would never blame the leader, you would blame those who voted for him.

That’s if you feel inclined to blame someone.

…..

The greatest achievement we can make in this life and in this world is to do the will of God and faithfully serve Him all our days.

……

Whatever you were before you came into Christ has no bearing on what you can be in Him, for ‘if anyone is in Christ he is a new creature/creation’.

……

The essence of Bible teaching is to bring to bear the whole counsel of God: what the entirety of scripture witnesses about a matter.

…..

When people take exception to Jesus’ exclusive claim to be the only way to God, we can ask them, If you don’t believe Jesus is the only way to God, then, do you know of any other way to God? Please explain your way of being reconciled to God on your own, or by your religion, without Christ’s sacrifice on your behalf? And are you 100 % sure your way to God will succeed?’

Do people take exception to Jesus’ claim to be the only way to God because there actually is another way to God, and by following Jesus you would miss out on this “true” way to God? If there is another way to God, explain how? Will your religion forgive your sins and reconcile you to God?

……

Godliness or worldliness? These are the options, and this is the choice.

But the actual Biblical definition of these words and not the cultural interpretations of them.

……

You might say you don’t have a religion, but you have an ideology, and there’s not much difference between the two.

The trend is that government is not just about governance, it’s about ideology as well, and tyrannical governments will not give you the freedom to disagree with their ideology.

……

Transforming lives is God’s work and God’s work alone, yet we each need to play the part He has ordained for us in His work.

…..

If the LORD caught you up right now before His Throne, and there you stood looking right at Him, would you worship Him?

(Think of the application to your life)

…..

The need of the hour is to be filled with the Spirit, but without being a goose.

…..

Replied to a brother who lamented “worship services” turning into rock concerts:

There’s no reference to a “worship service” in the NT.

This is an entirely different church paradigm than the examples in scripture.

……

Someone says the lifting of hands in church wasn’t done in the past.

Better to take our cue from the churches founded by the Apostles after Pentecost. There’s been a lot of hoopla since then.

Paul mentions men lifting hands in prayer.

As to how the media covers slaughters around the world it appears that life is cheaper in some places.

It’s going to be a beautiful day because the LORD is with us, and only because of this glorious fact.

…..

Jesus said, ‘Love your enemies!’

This is an amazing kind of love, when we can genuinely love those who hate us and want to harm us.

…..

Whilst we are unwise to compare ourselves with others, each church should indeed compare itself to the churches of the first century, as described in scripture, and ask, Where did we take a wrong turn?

…..

Nowhere is a church gathering referred to as a “worship” in the NT.

Check the NT church paradigm and then adjust towards that.

…..

We would want to try and thank God for everything He does for us, right?

…..

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

On the point of a ‘sound mind’, it’s worth understanding what that is, exactly.

It implies the ability to think soundly, that is, in an orderly and coherent manner, following a rational line of thought, as opposed to trying to string together random thoughts, which reveals confusion and then creates more confusion. There has to be a logical, rational line of thought.

Christians without a sound mind keep switching the subject and are not aware they are doing so, and are perhaps not fully aware of, or have not defined, what the subject is to begin with.

I believe the institutional church has created passive audiences who are not trained to think coherently, and thus they can’t coherently put forward the Gospel or teach the truth in a sound manner.

If someone doesn’t believe the Bible I couldn’t even remotely expect them to believe me, and why should I?

“Universal Consciousness”

It’s just the net effect of brainwashing and thought control on a global scale.

Conscious of what, or who, exactly?

…..

Where would you be if God did not forgive you?

I’m not sin or guilt conscious, yet I’m very conscious Christ has forgiven me so much.

The Holy Spirit is God.

Where is the Holy Spirit?

The Bible teaches that pride is evil. Pride is nothing to be proud of.

…..

Why are some governments allowed to keep printing money when they run out and we’re not allowed to? Doesn’t seem fair.

…..

“For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” (John 3:20)

This means that every unbeliever is conscious that the light exists, because why would they hate and try and avoid something which they know does not exist?

Biological man.

Biological woman.

Who would ever have thought that we would need to add the word ‘biological’ to clarify and define the difference between men and women?

Who is to define what a woman is if a man can also be a woman?

…..

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

This plainly means that seeking first things for yourself does not represent the Kingdom of God.

It also means that you don’t have to seek after things in order to have the things you need.

It is the final nail in the coffin of the Prosperity/Money Gospel.

Are you scared of God?

Christians don’t like death, but they like what’s on the other side of it.

True Christians know what a Digital Economy and Government leads to and they’re preparing for the day when they will no longer be able to participate in it.

Perhaps the saddest, most pitiful case is the Christian who has nothing to say about Christ.

“Church Planting”?

June 4, 2022

Sometimes we meet Christians who claim to be “planting churches”.

Now, the concept, in itself, is definitely Biblical, however we need wisdom if we are to work with such people, or support them, to understand what exactly is happening with their “church planting”, as to whether truly the Lord is building His church, or whether a man is building a religious organization and financially benefitting from being in control of it.

The difference between a true church plant and that of an organization is that the true is totally relational in nature.

Those whose church experience is not relational will find they need to develop financial relationships to achieve their vision of planting churches.

This means, they will need to offer “pastors” financial support in order to get them to work under their umbrella.

It also presupposes that such a “church planter” is a spiritual authority, as in one at the top of a pyramid scheme of hierarchical authority (like a mini pope).

It also presupposes, usually, that the method of “planting churches” is to find people who are willing to attend services and submit to the person in control of those services.

Which then leads to the topic of, What is a church? Is it simply a church service, that is, a preprogrammed liturgical ritual which is performed, and presided over by a “pastor”?

If that’s what church is, then it’s a simple matter to “plant churches”. All you need to do is sign up with an organisation, and receive financial support in return for following their orders, and then start your “service” anywhere where you can find people who are willing to come under your spiritual control.

This means you need to find people who are ignorant of what a church actually is, by the Biblical definition, and then prolong that ignorance so that these people will cooperate with you and you can use them to build “your church”, while remembering that the man who pays you will take the credit and call it one of “his churches”, and then after some time he will make a trip to America to proclaim that he has planted hundreds of “churches”, when, in reality, it is nothing more than one of those pyramid schemes.

Now, to add to the mix, there is the fact that, regardless of these facts, the Gospel does get preached in some form or other, and some people do get genuinely born again, amidst the crowds of those who have wrong motives and are not born again.

Jesus said MANY will come to Him claiming to be His disciples and He will tell them He never knew them. They had wrong motives for being a Christian. Some see it as a formula to earn salvation through being religious. Others see it as a means for wealth or power.

Will continue this another time.

Believing that God has Sovereign rule over everything should draw us deeper into participating with Him in His Kingdom works, and not create passivity.

…..

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…” (Rom. 8:16)

“He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself…” (1 John 5:10a)

Sometimes people accuse us of blindly following a book.

We believe the Book because the Spirit bears witness in our spirit to the truth of it.

So, it goes far beyond an intellectual assent to truth, it is a personal experience with God which shapes our belief in scripture.

…..

Liberal Christians interpret the Bible according to their fears. They see it written in scripture that terrible times must come before Jesus returns, and, as this scares them, they take the liberty to edit those verses out of the Bible, thus allaying their fears, like an Ostrich sticking its head in the sand.

…..

Whatever technological advances man has made, he couldn’t have done it without God’s assistance. God can help people achieve things even if they don’t acknowledge His existence.

…..

I loathe guns with all my heart and find them disgusting, but it would be a disaster if only the criminals (who are, ironically, mostly Democrat supporters) had guns. The whole nation would be like Chicago.

…..

People of all faiths, or no faith, often exhibit goodness, kindness and many other good traits endowed by their Creator, however, this does not change the fact we are all sinners by nature, and our sins have separated us from God and we need a Savior to reconcile us to God.

…..

When people seductively give away their modesty they throw away their soul.

….

Only the Creator defines His creation. Whatever man thinks he is, he better check with his Creator to find out what he actually is.

…..

When we’re young we might be terrified of getting old, but when we’re old we realize we’re in a better place as human beings than when we were younger.

……

Had a short discussion about “philosophy”. My point is that philosophy ignores man’s greatest and essential need: the need to be reconciled to God by Jesus Christ. So, whatever human benefit is gleaned from it, a man is still lost and condemned in his sins, so it’s like neatly arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. And what if you did arrange those chairs ever so nicely?

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:8-10)

So we can see that the devil would have a great interest in getting people distracted with philosophy so that they feel they have wisdom, which can blind them to the fact they need a Savior, Jesus Christ.

Pride is the one sin no one likes others to put their finger on. It’s the sin Christians are most protective of.

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5)

The proud Christian, instead of finding wonderful grace and power, finds God’s resistance.

There’s many Christians who would be set free completely from bondage if they would humble themselves before God, and become nothing in their own eyes, but find their identity in Christ alone.

Only those who are truly God’s children are disciplined by God.

Others can be full of pride and yet find no resistance at all, rather, the world loves them.

……

We are living in the time of the great apostasia (2 Thes. 2:3, 1 Tim. 4:1, 2 Tim. 3:1) when it will be hard to find Christians who are not backsliden, narcissistic or worldly. That said, why would we lose heart when it’s hard to find true fellowship if our faith is truly in God and not in man?

Skin color should be ignored.

Yes?

For me, whatever my ancestral race or tribe is is irrelevant to me living my life.

I don’t even care to know it as it’s irrelevant.

I know this might be a minority view, but who cares.

Because the world makes skin color an issue, thus it becomes an issue, and sometimes it’s an inescapable issue due to that fact
