Everyone wants to be free, but many mistakenly want to be free from God.

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” (Matthew 24:11-12)

a. For love to grow cold it had to be there to begin with, so this is referring to Christians.

b. The overall effect or influence of false prophets produces lawlessness (loose living) in Christians, which in turn leads to them losing their love for the LORD.

It shows that false prophets preach a false gospel of cheap grace, whereby people think the grace and love of God will still apply to them if they are unrepentant or redefine what sin is so as to justify their chosen lifestyle.

“For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Jude 4)

After we have been saved by Jesus Christ, it would be criminal to keep it a secret. We would have blood on our hands.

Everything we think, say or do should be such that God sees it as worship of Him.

How did Jesus “do church”?

Because I’m in Jesus Christ I’m already happy. I don’t do things to try and make myself happy, because I’m already happy. That said, this happiness can spring up at anytime. It’s always there. It’s called Joy.

Man builds Christendom.

Christendom is an amalgam of true and false elements, all mixed together.

Christ builds His Kingdom.

Many in Christendom are also in the Kingdom.

They have the word of God in their hands.

They will grow to place the word of God as higher authority than the word of man.

And thus Christ builds His church, which is His body, not an organization.

The problems of society are, in essence, and at their root, spiritual problems.

If your life is not what you possess or have achieved, or any glory you receive from others, then, what does your life consist of?

Jesus prayed in a garden. He prayed in the desert. He prayed on the grassy hills of Galilee – wherever He could get away from people and get alone.

I’m glad Jesus is the judge, and not someone else.

Believing in Jesus Christ also entails believing He has a plan and purpose for your life. Then, believing He has a plan and purpose for your life will entail believing in His providence and providential actions toward that end. So, we need to watch out for His providential actions toward that end and expect them.

When an ostrich sticks its head in the sand it is not doing it because it doesn’t believe or know there is danger, it does it because it mistakenly thinks if it denies the danger exists then it will be safe.

Its sticking its head in the sand is a reaction to the truth, not an ignorance of it.

All people know the truth, they just deny what they know:

An idol can be anything which takes the rightful place in our lives which belongs to the LORD alone.

God sees it as an exchange. We exchanged Him for something else. We replaced Him.

“Mansions” means dwelling places: rooms, living spaces, houses or such like.

Have a robust faith because your faith is in Him, and He is faithful.

We have a sin nature, a natural bent to disobey and shun God, and this is why Jesus said, ‘You must be born again!’ …so He can give us a new nature, which is His nature.

See Galatians 5. Our sin nature is called “the flesh”.

It’s fair to say that when someone has false views of God, and heretical ideas about the truths of scripture, or a lifestyle which is not harmonious with Jesus of Nazareth, then, if they claim to have intimacy with God we need to ask, which God? And which Jesus? And which Spirit? And which Gospel?

Walking in the Spirit is predicated upon a person knowing the reality of the Holy Spirit indwelling them all the time, therefore, moment by moment it is this reality which governs their thoughts, words and actions. If their thoughts, words and actions, choices and decisions, are in harmony with the indwelling Holy Spirit, and they know His witness within them, having peace with what He is at peace with, and being disturbed by what disturbs Him, they live, moment by moment by this dynamic. And if they don’t, they know it and quickly repent.

What we think about God’s word is what we think about God.
