After hearing the news of the Queen’s passing, and getting alone to process it, I must admit I got a little teary, like as in losing a friend.
She has always been there. Some of our earliest childhood memories concern the Queen.
Personally, I wouldn’t call her a leader. I don’t think she led anyone. I would call her a figurehead of an era, a more civilized era.
Whatever you believe about empires, it will make no difference as to their existence or continuity.
Just a passing thought: if you were in her shoes, born for the throne, living in the lap of luxury all your life, never having to do any physical labor, having everyone bow to you…. and this is how you lived for 96 years… would you still be a gracious and humble person?
