Even if there were only one galaxy in the universe it would be massive, but there’s billions of them.

Saw today the “pillars of creation” images from the James Webb Space Telescope. Two things came to mind: The images are 6500 light years away, so they are images of what it looked like 6500 years ago. And they report to have proof of stars forming in these images. So, we have proof stars were forming as recently as 6500 years ago. Interesting from a Biblical perspective.

Young stars, young planets?

It’s interesting that we can see back in time, as it were, to around the time the Bible says creation happened.

If this pic proves there are young stars then there also must be young planets.

Let’s see a pic from 7000 light years away.

If I’m asked, ‘Do I believe in a young earth?’, I would answer that with a question, Did Jesus believe in a young earth?

What Jesus believed is reliable, for He is the incarnate Son of God, God in the flesh.

In John 10:35 He said, “the scripture cannot be broken”.

It’s recorded on numerous occasions that He held the Jewish scriptures up as the authoritative word of God.

He never edited the book of Genesis.

So, my point is, because of who Jesus Christ is, you’re on safe ground if you believe what He believed.

And you’re wrong if you don’t.

You could no easier escape God’s law than you could the law of gravity.

God’s law still applies to people regardless of what they believe.

The same as the law of gravity still applies regardless of whether you believe in it.

The law of gravity doesn’t discriminate.

Books. A biography on every person who ever lived. Flattering to think there’s a book being written about you? Maybe not.

A commercial “prophet” always appeals to something in your flesh.

If I believe the commercial “prophets” on Twitter I come to the conclusion that I am the center of the Universe and God exists to serve me.

Contrary to the left wing narrative, the beliefs of others, and their expression of those beliefs, can’t possibly harm you, it’s only their actions which could cause harm.

If someone preaches the earth is flat he is not harming me, is he? Even if he tries his best to convince me, he’s still not harmed me. Only the unbalanced would think someone else’s beliefs have traumatized them.

If any religion gets on its soapbox and insists it is the truth, it has not harmed me.

It’s a fundamental human right to believe what you want to believe and tell the world if you feel you need to.

You can’t discuss politics without touching on moral issues, so, then, it’s going to be a difficult discussion when people have different concepts of morality.

How do you measure morality?

What will be your yardstick?

Morality becomes a very murky debate and tends toward hypocrisy when there’s no moral absolutes.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” (1 Peter 3:15)

This means someone who has real hope in them has such a tangible hope that it can sometimes be recognized by unbelievers.

A divided heart is simply one which has some desires which agree with God’s desires and also some which do not.

There’s a false equivalence when people say that the fact that the Old Covenant has been superceded by the New Covenant means God has finished with the Jewish people and has no plan to save the nation and bring them into the New Covenant..

…or to say that the present blindness of the Jews in seeking to restart the OT sacrificial system is a proof that the reformation of Israel has no prophetic significance…

No theological jargon here, such as people get tied up with nowadays. We’re looking for Jesus to return, described as His “glorious appearing”. A secret return would not be a “glorious appearing”.

This is our blessed hope. All generations were expected, by God, to be looking for Jesus’ glorious appearing.

And those who died in Christ were not disappointed, for to be “absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”.

And if we should die before Jesus returns we’ll also not be disappointed, and will miss out on nothing.

For when Christ returns He is bringing all those who died in Christ with Him.

He “redeems us from every lawless deed”. He purifies us by washing us in His own blood.

And He gives us a holy zeal to do His good works, to express His goodness to others.

Instant transportation. It’s as if you are standing on the street in London, then you close your eyes for a moment, and when you open your eyes you’re standing on the street in New York. One second before you were in London. Now you’re in New York.

Absent from the body, present with the Lord.

The devil was once an Archangel. He was the first liar, and kind of invented lying. He created a lie in his own mind and believed the lie he created. No one lied to him, he thought up the concept all by himself.

Imagine creating a lie and then believing it, knowing it’s a lie?

The devil knows he is lying, but his children don’t seem to know that their father has conned them.

The devil created lying, and therefore it’s in his DNA to lie, and to cause his children to believe a lie.

So, there is a dubious, dark, shadowy spiritual inheritance we have inherited from our father, the devil.

We need to exchange this father of liars for the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We need a new heart.

If we cannot accept what Jesus said then we don’t love the truth. His truth only hurts and offends those still clinging to a lie.

Yes, God has entirely done away with the Old Covenant by making a New Covenant with the house of Israel. This is the future destiny for the house of Israel, to come into the New Covenant. This is the divine purpose behind God’s promises to Israel, to bring them back into their own land. Jerusalem shall be trodden under the feet of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles is fulfilled. After the Gentiles have had their opportunity to come into Christ, then it is time for the Jewish people, lastly, to also come into Christ. The Jews will continue to be blinded to the Gospel until the full number of Gentiles comes into the Kingdom. So, they are returning to their land in a blind condition. God is leading them there even though they are blind. And in their blind condition they will seek to build a third Temple and perform animal sacrifices. But this won’t last very long because God will fulfill His promise to the nation to save them as a people. So, it’s folly to think that the present blindness of Israel means God has finished with them. It’s a false logic and a delusion.

So… there’s a false equivalence when people say that the fact the Old Covenant has been superceded by the New Covenant then that means God has finished with the Jewish people and has no plan to save the nation and bring them into the New Covenant..

Luke 21:24 “And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”

The times of the Gentiles are rapidly coming to a conclusion, which we see in the level of apostasy and delusion in Christendom, though the times and seasons are under the Father’s authority.

The times of the Gentiles coming to a conclusion has to be chronologically linked to the imminent destruction of Babylon (America – phony commercial church – RCC).

In times past there have been notable outpourings of the Holy Spirit, such as the Welsh Revival or the Isle of Lewis Revival, and at these times whole communities came under the influence of the Holy Spirit. These events highlight the Sovereignty of God in and over people’s lives. All of our prayers and our efforts to proclaim the Gospel must be from a faith which totally believes in the absolute Sovereignty of God and in expectation of His Sovereign will being performed.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

What is transpiring when God is working all things for good in someone’s life?

It shows that God’s love covers their whole life and existence.

It shows God’s plan for their life is always under active pursuit and involvement by God.

It shows that God is never passive concerning performing His will and purpose for those who love Him.

And it shows He is not passive in working good in our lives, so that we always experience His goodness toward us, and, in turn, have His goodness worked into our nature.

It shows that our circumstances, however daunting, are not outside His purpose of working all things together for good.

Because he is a climate skeptic he is being blamed for Hurricane Ian.

Someone was talking about the “structure of corporate worship”, and I suggested they look at 1 Cor. 14.

Maybe not what they had in mind.

It will deconstruct their traditional ideas about what church should be.

If people’s minds go blank when they read 1 Cor. 14 it’s because they are seeing what they don’t want to see, which challenges their preconceptions, and their preconceptions only see what they want to see, so they subconsciously block it out, perhaps as an unconscious self protection mechanism. And this could be true of any passage of scripture which challenges someone’s preconceptions.

Jesus said emphatically, ‘You must be born again!’.

You MUST be.

Why ‘MUST’?

Because the consequences of dying in an un-born-again state are too horrifying to contemplate.

God’s solution to sin, and to us as sinners, is to recreate us into holy people, into His own children.

He does this when we are born again, by faith in Jesus Christ resulting in true repentance of our sins.

To miss out on God is to miss out big time.

That many people erroneously believed Jesus was returning at a certain time, or even set dates, has no bearing upon when He will return.

It’s certainly a cautionary lesson against date setting.

And Peter said one of the signs of the Lord’s return is people will grow weary of the expectation, and mock the idea, and say, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’ …that is, they become disillusioned and don’t believe He can return in their lifetime.

The ironic thing about pride is that we have nothing to be proud of if everything is by the grace of God.

For all the people who will die this year, for them personally, it’s the same as if Jesus returned this year.

So the timing of the Lord’s return, though important, is not the most important thing.

The most important thing is we are ready to leave this earth and stand before Him today.

It’s good He told us what would happen before He comes so we can count the cost of following Him.

No one will be able to say they weren’t warned that terrible times are coming.

Amazing, that after having experienced His love, glory and power we still need to be reminded to keep ourselves from idols, but we do.

What we have oftentimes in such discussions as these are neurotic rebounding reactions.

For example, if someone reads the book of Revelation, then decides they need to hide away from society and not preach the Gospel, it simply means they are neurotic. It has no bearing on the reality of the facts which God has declared will take place.

The high points of my day are when I turn aside and get alone for a moment and look up into Heaven and just worship my Father, and His Son, overwhelmed with awe at who He is.

From a Biblical perspective it’s better to think of yourself as just another human being of Adam’s race, and not black or white or anything else, because that is what you are.

And if you have been joined to Christ by the new birth and are a new creature in Him, a member of His body, then even more reason to drop the distinctions.

It doesn’t mean you have to be ashamed of your natural or cultural heritage, it just means it no longer defines who you are.

This is just my opinion, based on my understanding of 1 Cor. 14 and other passages:

If you desire to worship the LORD in song, do so, as much as your heart desires. Sing all night if you want to. You surely have enough time to. And you can sing while you drive, or go about your tasks (unless you want to spare the listeners).

However, when you come together as the assembly (church) get straight into prayer and the word of God.

A few songs would be fine, singing to one another in scriptural songs.

The early church did not have a “worship service”.

It was about building one another up in the LORD.

Might sound strange to you.

But test it with scripture.

Jesus said that the love of many would grow cold in the last days.

For example, how many people are there who care about your soul?

If psychology is effective, why didn’t Jesus use it?

Someone might say, ‘Jesus didn’t know about psychology, but had He known He would have used it’.

No.

Even if Israel happened to be flooded with psychologists back then, He still wouldn’t have used psychology.

See, whatever Jesus did, it worked.

Let’s follow Him, understanding how He set the captives free.

Those politicians who incentivized illegal immigration should open their doors to these poor people and have them camping in their yard.

They don’t want a wall at the border, but they want walls around their mansions.

They are using these poor people as political pawns.

People put a lot of emphasis on personal appearance, but under our skin we all look pretty much the same.
