Churches should be as close to real life as possible, to equip people for real life.

Even if we’re non-conformists by nature, we still need to conform to Christ by conforming with His truth. We need to bend. The proud person will not bend.
…..
If the LORD Jesus is the greatest joy of our life then we are connected to the true source of joy.
…..
Life in Christ’s eternal Kingdom is something like this life, only much better. It would be a supreme tragedy if you missed out.
It’s life as God had always intended it to be.
The life we have lived has been corrupted by sin, by our sin and the sin of others.
It’s barely a life compared to how life is lived up there.
There’s some differences, like you don’t get married there.
Also there’s no temple there in the Holy City, implying the practice of religious rituals has ceased.
No police either.
No rent to pay. You get a free house.
Never sin, never get sick, never die.
….
The moment we are born again we discover that the Jesus of history happens to still be very much alive.
“You must be born again!”, Jesus said.
…..
If a pregnant woman is punched in the stomach and the baby dies, that’s legally and rightfully defined as the murder of the child.
But if a doctor rips that same baby apart then it’s supposedly not murder.
See what we’re dealing with?
A society which believes evil is good, and good is evil.

There wouldn’t be much of a problem in observing man-made traditions if we made it very clear they are indeed man-made and not given by God. If churches announced that every man-made tradition is exactly that, and not instituted by God, then perhaps people would start asking why they bother with things God never instituted?

Philippians 3:18-19
“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.”
Or… “…they think only about this life here on earth.”
We have to think about this life here on earth.
But enemies of the Cross think about their life here on earth to the exclusion of thinking about God and His truth.
We first need to worship God and seek first His Kingdom and righteousness, and then He will guide how we should think about our life here on earth.
Enemies of the Cross don’t necessarily reject the Bible, prayer or church attendance, but they only see these things in terms of them getting the things they want in life, as a means to a worldly end, because they have “set their mind on earthly things”.

The “Christian” who lusts after gold will, ironically, never walk the streets of gold.
……
It’s a false assumption to assume someone doesn’t have love simply because you don’t like what they’re saying. It would then be that the only loving people are those who tell you what you want to hear. Maybe it’s come to that?
…..
1 John 5:21
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”
In other words, don’t become an idol worshipper.
An idol is not God.
To serve or worship something which is not God is idolatry.
…..
Jesus said: “Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold”.
Seems to imply that the love of many believers becomes cold because they are affected by the lawlessness they see around them. It doesn’t seem to imply the believers become directly lawless, but, rather, their love becomes cold, and this opens them up to the possibility of becoming lawless by making them weak and vulnerable.
The church in Ephesus (Rev. 2) left its first love, and yet was not lawless.
Had they not repented of losing their first love it would have led to lawlessness.
So, somehow, believers choose to see stuff they shouldn’t and their love becomes cold.

Colossians 1:10
“…that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God…”
This means every thought, word, attitude and deed should be worthy of Him.

You never see the “fact checkers” fact checking Joe Biden.
And the reason for this shows it’s not about fact checking at all.

It’s funny how some groups or individuals are never censored for their hatespeech, while others are falsely accused of it?
Maybe Big Tech should drop the idea of being the moral police?

Rigging the news is like a back door way of rigging elections.
…..
A brother who is against Christians voting writes: “The vote is an instrument used in making the people acquiesce in everything done legally by their elected officials.”
If this logic be true, then when you obey the laws of a government you would be acquiesing to everything done by that government. And this is obviously not true.
Then, to be sure you are not acquiesing to the government, you would have to willfully disobey every law of that government so that you can be clear in your conscience that you’ve not shown your approval or signaled any acknowledgement of the validity of that government.
……
Interpretations of the end times or Christ’s return should not affect the urgency of the Gospel message, because of the simple fact that today could be the last day and the last chance for those you’re preaching to.

The wisdom of God often comes to us as His provided solution to a problem or dilemma we face.

When Saul was arresting Christians, little did they know that this angry little man would soon be their Apostle.
God works in mysterious ways.

Kanye suspended from Twitter for essentially saying what one of the world’s greatest religions has always been saying?
It shows the kind of “diplomatic immunity” that religion enjoys.
…..
Just an observation, that in many parts of the world, when people refer to their “culture” they are referring to how they lived in times past, but their present culture is one which has been assimilated into American culture. Not a judgment, just an observation.
And freedom means you are free to do this if you want.

For most of human history, of an evening, people would usually sit around the fire and talk, or read, or pray, or sing, or suchlike.

Dysfunctional people…
Dysfunctional families…
Dystopian society.

Psalm 37:23
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.”
Absolutely fantastic!
A person is daily taking steps in life and God is daily taking delight in watching them, and it is He who is ordering each step: which is, to guide, bless and establish each step of life.

A servant of the devil will naturally hate a servant of God.

One of the most fantastic truths is we can look up to Heaven and speak to God and He hears and listens, and we can do this anytime, anyplace.

God meets us where we are, but He doesn’t leave us there.

The FBI knows Maxwell was trafficking children but they don’t know to whom she was trafficking them.
Imagine that! You’ll need a good imagination.

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
So, seeking the Kingdom is not something we do when we get round to it, it’s what we do first.
…..
As Christians, if we’re ever truly or validly corrected by a fellow believer, it’s not them correcting us, it’s the word of God correcting us.

For any given subject, we should try and take into account all that the Bible says about that subject.

A disciple is like his Master.

I can sympathize with someone who rejects “church” or “Christianity” due to a faulty perception caused by misrepresentations of such, because it doesn’t mean they have consciously rejected Christ, it could mean they have rejected caricatures of Him.
…..
Don’t seek after joy or happiness, seek the LORD and His righteousness and you’ll have genuine joy in Him.

The approval of the herd or mob?
Or the approval of God?

What if people in the world work harder at making money than Christians do for the Kingdom of God?
…..
The first disciples had scientific evidence of the existence of God, because they saw with their own eyes Jesus give sight to the blind, make the paralyzed walk, raise the dead, make the deaf hear, cast out demons, walk on water, feed 5000, and rise from the dead.

There are many practical difficulties we face, and each one is supposed to be a point of prayer.

“Jesus didn’t say, Go into all the worid and tell them they’re okay.”

The film “Fail Safe” (1964) is a fictional account of a nuclear standoff between America and Russia. It depicts how much responsibility falls directly on the President, as Commander in Chief, as the one who must make instant critical decisions in the event of a nuclear incident or showdown. It shows the terrible pressure a President could come under to safely handle such an event and steer the world away from nuclear Armageddon. Americans should choose a man who could handle the pressure of such an incident. Her enemies see a cognitively challenged, often incoherent man shouldering this immense responsibility, and perhaps they see it as an opportunity?

On Judgment Day everyone’s actual or secret life is revealed.
Embarrassing, or what?
Flee to Christ and He will save you the embarrassment, and, far more, in that you can be like Him.
See: 1 John 3:2-3
