It’s terribly sad to see people exit this world without a Savior. They may have scoffed at the idea, or been insulted by the thought that they need a Savior. But all that’s changed now. They’re no longer laughing.

…..

Your REAL friends are the ones who pray for you.

…..

With God’s help you can have a much better life.

Jesus said, “I have come that they might have LIFE, and have it more abundantly”.

…..

Christians are free to choose whether they will have a cultural or religious identity. They should realize they have a choice. Many would be unaware that it’s quite okay not to have a cultural or religious identity.

For example, I wouldn’t feel I’ve betrayed my ancestors or family if I choose not to conform to their culture or religion.

I’m Australian. What is Australian culture? Drinking beer, meat pies, bush hats, speaking the vernacular, going to the footy, watching cricket on TV… ??

…..

The Bible tells us where the world is heading and what’s going to happen.

….

Social media portrays stars and celebrities as if they actually have a life, but this is an illusion being painted. Don’t fall for the illusion.

….

When we comprehend and consider that God answers prayer, we realize we should be more serious about prayer.

…..

Colossians 3:23 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”
.

Meaning, there shouldn’t be anything we do which is not unto the Lord.

Hmmmm?

…..

If we have more zeal than love, or if our zeal overtakes our love, you know where that ends up.

…..

2 Corinthians 2:9 “For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.”

Hmmmm?

….

Zechariah 4:6b “…Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

Here is the way forward.

…..

Hebrews 10:31
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Either, you’re in His hands, or you’re going to fall into His hands, and that would be terrifying.

Don’t know what to preach?

On abortion rights…

Surely a conflict of interest here between the rights of the mother and the rights of her child.

Righteousness makes you feel clean, and unrighteousness makes you feel dirty or unclean.

The Bible describes the difference between clean and unclean.

God’s grace is sufficient, the Bible teaches. Whatever our circumstance, His grace is sufficient.

The popular narrative is that the WEF are the good guys who want to save the human race, so whatever they want to do must be with the best intentions.

It raises the issue of fake conversion.

Surely, the people who say to Jesus: “Lord! LORD! We did great things in your name!”

And He says, “I never knew you!” ….

…Surely these people are false converts.

Jesus describes them as “lawless”.

They have a type of conversion, but it’s a fake conversion.

…..

Anything with the wrong motive is doomed from the start.

Unless God intervenes.

….

God lets faulty foundations collapse because He can’t build on such.

….

To a friend:

I understand the need to share your burden, and I feel honored you shared it with me.

…..

Truth wins.

….

You would think that someone’s desire to rule the world would disqualify them from the position?

……

Christian, if the Spirit is working mightily in your life, then He can also work mightily in the lives of those you’re praying for, for they’re really no different to you.

….

Psalm 95:7b-8a

“…Today, if you will hear His voice: Do not harden your hearts…”
.

Have you heard His voice today?

…..

Have you spent time alone with God today in an attitude of awe, worship, adoration, reverence, thankfulness, love and joy?

….

Don’t miss out on your one chance at immortality.

.

1 Corinthians 15:53b “… This mortal must put on immortality.”

…..

If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead then you would never need to bother yourself with Him.

But He did rise, never to die again.

…..

When we receive a criticism, our reaction sometimes reveals the state of our conscience, whether it’s clear or cloudy.

…..

Jesus shows us what is real.

…..

The Bible says God spoke the universe into existence, creating it out of nothing except the words He spoke.

What incomprehensible power!

Ought to get to know Him, right?

…..

To know Jesus Christ is the ultimate.

…..

If the HOLY Spirit is in us, He should lead us, and not we, ourselves.

…..

Jesus died for our sins and was raised on the third day to produce a new kind of people, a new species, a new creation: a kind of people who never existed before.

…..

Do what you know you should do, before God, and leave the outcome to Him, in simple trust. He only expects us to do what we should do. He doesn’t expect us to have control over the outcome.

…..

Absolutely every issue or dilemma facing every person is ultimately a question of truth.

So we should never undervalue truth.

…..

The written Word does not replace the Spirit, and neither does the Spirit replace the written Word.

….

For a true Christian, the future is always better than the past.

…..

If goodness is measured and defined by human standards, alone, then, comparatively, that is, comparing people with people, there are good people and bad people, by that definition.

But, by God’s definition, and by His law and commands, the people who are considered good by society’s standards are not good in the sight of God.

….

Sometimes it’s hard for us to comprehend God personally involved in our lives, since He is infinite, and we, so small, and seemingly insignificant or inconsequential.

The Lord Jesus encouraged us to ask the Father for all our needs.

This won’t distract Him from weightier matters, because He’s already personally involved and invested in our life, and He’s already helping us, whether we ask for His help or not. And He loved us before we loved Him.

….

Things only have meaning because they’re designed to have meaning, and we’re designed to understand their meaning.

Gatherings of God’s children is where the love is supposed to be on this planet. Also known as, church.

It’s wonderful when you delight in something and it’s because the Holy Spirit in you is delighting in it.

A note on “tongues”

January 24, 2023

A brief note on “tongues” (speaking in a language you don’t know):

  • On the Day of Pentecost the “tongues” were in known languages, of which there were people present who could understand them.
  • In 1 Cor. 14 there is a detailed explanation of “tongues”. Paul says the utterance in a “tongue” needs an interpretation. This indicates that such utterances were in languages unknown to anyone present.
  • The interpreter needed a gift to interpret. Interpreters weren’t people who were naturally familiar with the particular language being uttered.
  • Now, why would God give a message in the Chinese language to a church which spoke French?
  • So, it seems to indicate that the languages referred to in 1 Cor. 14 are not known languages, they are utterances directly from the Holy Spirit in the language He uses.
  • 1 Cor. 14 also asks us to distinguish between a message to the church in “tongues”, and privately praying in “tongues”, as both are described.
  • In the genuine manifestation of the gift it is the Holy Spirit speaking, with zero input or contribution from the speaker.
  • So, it is either the Spirit, or the flesh. It can’t be an amalgam of both.
  • Counterfeit gifts are so common today that the average Christian may never have witnessed genuine gifts.
  • It is foolish to base your “theology” upon whether or not you have experienced what scripture describes.

The Bible is the only authority on matters pertaining to God.

You can’t get better guidance than by the Holy Spirit, can you?

“I get guidance from the Bible!”

Yes. Guidance as far as the truth is concerned. Guidance on issues of truth.

Yet the Bible alone can’t guide every step you make day to day, and lead you to the people you need to meet, guide you when to speak or keep silent etc.. We need both the Bible and the Holy Spirit.

I’ve never encountered a problem where the Bible was the problem.

If the Bible is not the word of Jesus, then it’s worthless.

But if it is His word, the truth He has preserved for His disciples to heed, then live by every word of God.

And as to a supposed choice between living by His Spirit or living by His truth, there is no such choice or option.

I guess you’re familiar with liberal “Christians” who support evil and justify it by saying the Bible is not literally God’s word?

The devil doesn’t mind you talking continuously about grace and love or “Jesus” just as long as you don’t call out what the Bible describes as sin.

Re: “Did Jesus promise the Bible to lead us into all truth?”

How do you know Jesus promised to lead us into all truth?

By reading the Bible.

Now, which truth is He going to lead us into?

The truth He inspired and preserved for us.

Okay, let’s look at the problem of legalism, which is a huge problem.

The Bible is not the cause of legalism.

In fact, the whole New Testament teaches against it.

That’s how we know legalism is wrong. We know it from scripture, by the Spirit.

So, when people misuse the scripture, it doesn’t mean there is a fault with scripture.

Some might say, “oh, he became legalistic by emphasizing the Bible over the Spirit”.

Surely, this does happen, but it’s rare.

Usually legalists are trapped by extra-biblical rules or laws.

Hebrews 8:10 (from Jeremiah 31)
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

Now, is this truth, which He writes in our mind and heart, a different truth to scripture?

Will it be extra-biblical truths?

You might think it’s a funny thing, but it’s the Holy Spirit which causes me to defend and uphold scripture as the only authority on matters pertaining to God.

The Holy Spirit never causes us to look to the Holy Spirit as the only authority concerning God.

…..

Heard today from a wise woman:

“We should read the word of God, and anything in our life which doesn’t conform to it we should be willing to change. “

…..

If you don’t have God, what do you have?

…..

If God can’t give us joy, then why should anything else?

What happens is when the LORD is our joy, we find joy in the simple things of life because we understand every true joy of living has its origin and meaning in Him.

…..

If we don’t preach the Gospel it’s ultimately due to a lack of love.

…..

1 Corinthians 12:18
“But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.”
.
.
The picture here is like a physical body, with all the organs and muscles etc., placed by design exactly where they need to be for the healthy functioning of the whole body.

So, mysteriously, God places each member of Christ in His body, which is His church, by design, with the intent of playing its part in the healthy functioning of the church, universal and local. Each member somehow finds themselves where God intended them to be in the body. …somehow. Because He is able to do it. It shows His majestic Sovereign authority over His creation.

Ephesians 1:22-23
“And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

As wonderful as this truth is, no truth can be used as an escape from responsibility.

Testimony

We’ve had an evening prayer meeting with all our family for nearly 25 years. Only on rare occasions do we miss. We all take turns to share the word of God. So each day it’s someone’s turn to share and facilitate discussion, and another person’s turn to lead us all in the prayer of agreement for all whom we pray for. We pray for all our family, relatives, friends, neighbors, government, and also for any needs. The kids have been sharing the word of God since they began to read, and leading in prayer as well. We take time to sing thanks and praise to our God, preferring to sing songs which are directly from scripture. When we gather for prayer, around 7 pm, we first just chat about anything touching our lives. We also talk business plans, and anything needful. Then after that we praise God, share His Word, and pray.

Personally, I believe it’s one of the most vital aspects of our life.

The most vital aspect is our time alone with God.

And the secondmost, is our time together in prayer.

….

As society degenerates you can expect that governments will eventually “own” your children, as in, parental rights will be removed, and the state will have all rights over the child, and each child will undergo compulsory brainwashing in the narrative of the state, with the goal of producing compliant, unthinking, obedient citizens. It’s already well on the way.
