For me personally, I’m not conscious I belong to a certain race, therefore I’m not proud of my race or skin color, it’s irrelevant. Not proud or ashamed of it. Nor am I proud or ashamed of my nationality, because I could have been born anywhere on earth.

Those in Christ are now children of God.

Nationality is a responsibility, not an identity, unless you choose it as your identity.

What about your culture!?

Couldn’t give a hoot about it.

I do thank God for a Christian influence through my mother, but that is not a culture.

I thank God for Christianized culture, compared to the alternatives, yet it’s not my identity.

Perhaps an indicator that not many Christians think about God’s word is because so few talk about it, for if we think about something we usually talk about it, if it’s important.

Man’s need is twofold:

He needs God’s forgiveness, and he needs to be recreated on the inside into a new person.

Only Jesus Christ can do this.

If aliens exist elsewhere in the universe they’re in for a big shock when God destroys it very soon.

Three points about money.

1 Timothy 6:5,9-10
[5]useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
[9]But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
[10]For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Looking at 1 Tim. 6:5, 9-10 we see three points in regard to money:

1. God is not to be used as a means or formula to obtain wealth (Vs 5).
2. It’s wrong to desire to be wealthy (Vs 9).
3. The love of money is evil and leads to sorrow (Vs 10).

I guess you’ll be burning some books now and turning off popular preachers?

Desire to be successful, but not to be wealthy..

No one desires to fail, do they?

If it’s wrong to desire to be wealthy using legitimate means, it’s certainly wrong to desire it by illegitimate means.

Prosperity preachers get wealth by illegitimate means.

Desire to succeed but don’t covet wealth.

Believing the truth is crucial when you consider the alternative.

Some points on “repentance”:

• If we’ve repented of something it means we no longer do it.
• If we’ve repented of something we are rightly ashamed of it.
• If we’ve repented of something we make “no provision” for it. “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” (Rom. 13:14).
• If we’ve repented of something we begin to see it as God sees it, and not how we formerly viewed it.
• If we’ve repented of something we no longer justify it in our mind.
• If we’ve repented of something we now understand that we were insulting the Holy Spirit.
• If we’ve repented of something then we’ve experienced the power of Jesus Christ over sin, as He helped us to repent, and sanctifies us.
• If we’ve repented of something we now agree with God’s word, whereas previously we were not believing His word, evidenced by our disobedience.
• If we’ve repented of something then the love of Christ has filled that place in our heart and soul.

I decided back in 1990 not to follow the church system, and there’s not been a day since that I’ve regretted that decision.

Jesus taught there is a Heaven and a Hell, and He is the only way to Heaven. In fact, He promised eternal life to whoever would believe Him.

Now, you would think more people would be interested in eternal life?

What’s happening in America is you have the country divided down the middle into two groups:

Group A has some kind of morality, or at least a mental assent to Biblical morality.

Group B has virtually no morality left, nor believes in Biblical morality.

And Group B passionately hates Group A.

To believe false teaching is to believe a lie about the nature of God.

Some popular, harmful false teachings today:

• That you need to do certain prescribed stuff to “enter into” or “attract” the presence of God.
• That people who claim to do supernatural feats have more spiritual authority than those who don’t.
• That the more popular a leader is the more spiritual authority they have.
• That large churches demonstrate God’s endorsement or favor.
• Unthinking or unquestioning acceptance of any kind of prophecy.
• Any kind of spiritual authority separate from the authority of scripture.
• The belief that to expose false teachings and teachers is unChristlike.
• The belief that one’s religious organisation is the one true church.
• The belief that every person is either a Calvinist or an Arminian.
• The belief that no matter what sins you commit you could never be separated from Christ.
• The belief that speaking in tongues is the sole evidence one is filled with the Holy Spirit.
• The belief that spiritual gifts ceased after the Aposties died.
• The belief that there are Apostles today who have authority like the original Apostles.
• The belief that the commandments in the New Testament are no longer applicable today because they are “the letter of the law”.
• The belief that all the warnings in the New Testament are only to the unsaved and never to the saved.

Etc. Etc.

And this is just scratching the surface.

Of course, this list focuses on some false beliefs by mainstream Christians.

I’ve not touched on the false beliefs of cults.

Now, if God has reconciled you to Himself, then you’d be okay, right?

You can’t be half reconciled to God.

You’re either reconciled, or you’re not.

So, what good is religion or spirituality if you’re not reconciled to God?

The picture here is that to live in sin is to live in darkness and to love the darkness, and living in the darkness is to love a lie, therefore, when the light or truth penetrates the darkness , the lie they love is threatened by the light and the truth. The person who loves a lie doesn’t want any kind of proof that it is indeed a lie they love.

Wherever you see spiritual celebrities you know people have more faith in the celebrity than in God. This is obvious, because where there is true faith in God there are no celebrities.
