I am Crucified with Christ

(Gal. 2:20) Probably the most profound phrase we can read in the Bible.

Today, can you say along with Paul, I am crucified with Christ ?  Yes, Christ died for me, and yet I also died with Him, and rose with Him, and am in Him now.

Our present continuous status is CRUCIFIED. Dead to sin and alive to God. We are not being crucified, that has already been accomplished once and for all, but we share the same status as our Savior – CRUCIFIED.

If we are indeed CRUCIFIED it should show. It should be recognizable, we should have the ‘marks’ of a crucified person. Remember, we are crucified to sin and the world, and to who we were before as a condemned sinner. We can’t show any scars or wounds of our crucifixion with Christ, rather the presence of the Crucified One is in us and with us. We fellowship, commune and live by Jesus the Crucified. Now our interests are His interests; our business is His business; we take hold of everything Christ died to give us; we press forward and take hold of the promises of God, violently, with spiritual violence.

Getting carried away Ian?  Oh no, we share in the Life of the Son of God, and we will reign with Him on the earth, we will judge angels, we who are crucified with Christ.

One Response to “I am Crucified with Christ”

  1. ianvincent Says:

Gal 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

Living unto God, living by His Life, is inseparable from being dead to the law.

There’s living unto law and there’s living unto God.

We either draw our life from laws of we draw our life from God.

When we speak of ‘the law’ we include the concept of law, which includes the laws of man – traditions of men, and also any laws of our own making, or laws/judgments which others have passed upon us.

That is, i no longer live even to my own law/s but live to God alone, for I am crucified with Christ.

We either walk in the Spirit or we walk according to law.

When a person truly walks in the HOLY Spirit then they don’t break the moral law of God – that which constitutes His character. But if we ‘walk in the law’ we will break the law.

Note: This truth is sooo misused and abused in these days. Some of the most sin enslaved and demonized ‘christians’ swear point blank that they are dead to the law and alive to God, that they walk in the Spirit.

ALIVE TO GOD has to mean alive to the God of the Bible, Jesus of Nazareth. The word ‘ GOD ‘ is bandied about so freely, without discerning what really happens when someone really encounters the God of the Bible. In the real encounter you get crucified ; and later you can say, I am crucified with Christ. I remember what it was like to be an enemy of Christ by my own sin, and I am no longer that same person, I am crucified with Christ.
